Integrative Therapists

We are a mother and daughter family-led Counselling Service, and between us, we have over 30 years of experience in supporting young people and adults at difficult times in their lives.

Bringing together different elements of specific therapies such as: Carl Rodgers Person Centre Therapy,  CBT, Transactional Analysis and taking the view that there is no single approach that can treat each client in all situations and that each person needs to be considered as a whole and counselling techniques should be tailored to individual needs and personal circumstances.

Whilst we are both qualified to work with a wide range of client presentations, we also have our own specialist interests and experiences.

Alex has extensive experience in working with young people aged 13 into adulthood and has gained additional qualifications to support this.  Kimberly has extensive experience working with grief and all aspects of anxiety and is qualified in the relationship field. Please read through their bios to learn more about them.

We are passionate about fostering a warm and welcoming space where clients feel truly listened to and supported. Our approach is rooted in empathy and understanding, ensuring confidentiality and a non-judgmental atmosphere where individuals can explore their thoughts and feelings openly. We believe that everyone has the potential to heal and grow, and we are committed to walking alongside our clients on their unique journeys towards wellbeing.

Why does counselling work?

Clients are supported through self-exploration, to identifying what factors in their life are perpetuating problems, and/or are causing current concerns.

In particular, the integrative approach helps clients face each moment openly and authentically without having formed an opinion, expectation or attitude beforehand and recognise specific triggers that may be causing disruptive patterns of behaviour.

Through this awareness, integrative therapy helps to create a healthy alliance between mind and body – empowering clients to start setting goals and practising new behaviours that will enable Clients  to move beyond their limitations and discover greater life satisfaction.

Integrative counselling

maintains the idea that there are many ways in which human psychology can be explored and understood – no one theory holds the answers.

The integrative approach

looks at the: affective, behavioural, cognitive, and physiological systems within one person.

Integrative counsellors

are not only concerned with what works, but why it works – tailoring therapy to my clients and not the client to the therapy.

Integrative counselling

aims to promote healing and facilitate wholeness – ensuring that all levels of a person’s being and functioning (mental, physical and emotional health) are maximised to their full potential.
